Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because

  • The English page is similar to pages about the same music band in 4 different languages which existed for many years.
  • The content includes a rewritten version of the group website contents, there are no direct copies. The band's website only includes very basic information about the founder's name, band size and album name translation.
  • I would be happy to rewrite the article to make the difference more pronounced.
OK, I've removed the deletion tags @Evgenii Salganik To address your points: 1) note that English Wikipedia has stricter notability requirements than other language Wikipedias, so the fact that they exist has no bearing on this article; 2) the content may not be directly copied, but it is still close paraphrasing; 3) please do, that would help point 2. I remain unconvinced as to the notability of the band. Is there any reliable sources with significant coverage of the band that I'm not seeing here, maybe in the Russian language? Interviews do not count, as they are not independent of the subject. Schminnte (talk contribs) 18:22, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Evgenii Salganik? Can you confirm that you have seen this? For notability, interviews are not what we need. Schminnte (talk contribs) 18:38, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I added both interviews, music reviews and music video reviews in English. Evgenii Salganik (talk) 18:44, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is a self published source and can't be used to show notability, this is about the film and its creator, not explicitly the band. Is there anything better that you can show me to show that the band passes either our general notability guideline or our band notability guideline? Schminnte (talk contribs) 18:50, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, yet, it is a music video not a movie. I added a national award win from 2016 to support notability. Evgenii Salganik (talk) 19:25, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it is created as a translation from other languages but attempts to follow stricter requirements of English Wikipedia for artistic significance. The article shows that this musical band has a large success in Russia and Georgia, therefore, most of the interviews are in those languages. The collaboration with one of the most famous Georgian film directors is mentioned for the same reason. Can you explain how a local band with 62 000 monthly listeners on Spotify and many awards can be not significant and why this article seems promotional? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evgenii Salganik (talkcontribs) 19:04, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
