Quantum physics PhD citation

[edit]

I've mentioned his quantum physics PhD in my review of his book at http://www.thebookbag.co.uk/reviews/index.php/13_Things_That_Don't_Make_Sense_by_Michael_Brooks - obviously I can't cite that myself here though. That info is taken from the 'About the author' bit on the first page of the book. I think there should be enough info for someone to create an appropriate reference. Added a citation that he has a quantum PhD linking to http://www.michaelbrooks.org/ - Jozsefs (talk) 00:09, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Where did he get it? The original citation request noted that the place he got it wasn't even noted on his own web site. So referencing the site for that info isn't a reliable source. It can't be checked. --71.162.80.162 (talk) 10:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing his own website for his Ph.D is poor practice. Shouldn't it get a {{peacock-term}} or a {{weasel-inline}} -- I think it must. For a biography, we should have more reliable information. Ph.D. Dissertations are published, public materials and should not be only self-sourced. So {{weasel-inline}} seems like the better fit. - 209.131.48.66 (talk) 22:33, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added the school that granted his PhD. Removed "scientist" in his job description, because, though he has a science PhD he is not a practicing professional scientist, and has never been, according to his public bios. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.91.140 (talk) 08:07, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

[edit]

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section:

  • Cite templates will be used where possible.
  • I prefer capitalization and punctuation to follow the standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, rather than "title case".
  • Links (either direct or indirect) to potentially unreliable or incomplete digitised copies and to booksellers may be removed.

This is a work in progress; feel free to continue. Sunwin1960 (talk) 11:40, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
