This subject is not notable enough to have his own wikipedia article. His only claim to "notability" is he once invaded a Bob Dylan performance. This does not make him notable. The majority of Wikipedia users would never have heard of this man. Article says he has history as a comedian and is now a performance artist, but there are many non-famous comedians and performance artists in the world who do not have their own Wikipedia articles. This article was clearly made by Portnoy or a friend for self-indulgent or promotional purposes. Not notable. Soy Bomb

[edit]

I think this article should be merged with Soy Bomb. Or vice versa. Either way. And I don't know how to make one of those messages at the top that says "It has been suggested that this article be merged with..." butI say someone should make it happen. Right. It took me quite a while to figure out that those two articles are actually about the same person. I agree that there shouldn't be two separate pages. I'll see what I can do. <KF> 20:26, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Everyone happy? Surely not?!? <KF> 20:38, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy. What a great article about a fun person (no, I don't know him). Some ideas probably need to be sourced, but it's pretty good as it stands. I made a few Wiki links. Bearian 19:03, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup needed

[edit]

This article needs major cleanup, in my opinion. Most obviously, it doesn't cite any references. Also, I'm not really convinced that Portnoy meets basic notability guidelines. He seems to be known only for the Soy Bomb incident, and I'm not sure he's notable beyond that. I'm not saying he's definitely not, just that I am unconvinced, and I think someone needs to make the case, with sources, that he is. --Gotophilk (talk) 18:17, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bob Dylan stunt

[edit]

Among long term Bob Dylan fans it is assumed that the Soy Bomb stunt was planned and paid for as one more oddity in Bob Dylan's stage events, a pretend invasion. Anyone have any facts? It fits his general smoke and mirrors what more can you show me style. 81.174.156.198 (talk) 10:02, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
