Major General Michael Nyambuya is the Chief of Staff Administration and Quartermaster Staff, Zimbabwe Defence Force. For two years prior to this appointment in 1995, he was the Commandant of the Zimbabwe Staff College. General Nyambuya began his military career in the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA), and has subsequently attended a number of courses, including the Command and Staff Course in Camberley, United Kingdom. He served with UNAVEM II in Angola for two years where he was Senior Liaison Officer FAPLA, Deputy Chief Military Observer, and Acting Chief Military Observer. General Nyambuya also served with UNOSOM as the deputy Force Commander, up to the time of the withdrawal of the mission from Somalia. He holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Zimbabwe.
