Talk:Mike Simpson (UK politician)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mike Simpson is a local politician in my constituency and he's standing for election to parliament of the United Kingdom.

Under UK election rules all candidates must be given a fair airing in the broadcast media. Whilst this does not apply to Wikipedia I think it's only fair that whilst his main rival Jeremy Hunt has a Wikipedia page, so too should Mike Simpson, highlighting his political career.

Not only that but standing for national public office for one of the 3 main political parties in the UK in itself gives this person enough standing to warrant his own wikipedia page.

Not under our guidelines; see WP:POLITICIAN; "Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability". While I sympathise as a fellow party member, we're not going to bend the rules for any one candidate. Ironholds (talk) 07:48, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
