Relevance and notability

[edit]

Some of the items mentioned in the article are only tangentially related to Tuffrey or are of limited importance. For example, including the LDV poll is likely giving undue weight to an event, and thus breaches WP:NPOV; to be included, it ought to be mentioned in a reliable source, eg a newspaper. The discussion of the family background is endearing - and that's probably the point of including it: making a politician seem empathetic to voters. However, if it's not supported by newspapers, books, or journals, it should not be included. Bastin 11:21, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Conflict of interests

[edit]

I added a template suspecting a conflict of interest, because it's only being edited right now in very favourable light to Tuffrey by two editors:

  • User:Alanmuhammed, who is a Lib Dem activist in London
  • User:Highvoltageuk, who has not edited a single other article, yet is so dedicated to editing Mike Tuffrey's page that he or she also joined Wikicommons to upload two pictures of Tuffrey there: and nothing else.

That is suspicious behaviour. Since Highvoltageuk is so belligerent in his or her attitude to his or her identity and potential COI, it is only prudent to request that he or she adopts a more scrupulous attitude towards this article. That means referencing is in line with WP:V, using only the most reliable sources per WP:RS, and erring on the side of exclusion per WP:BLP.

As a side note, Highvoltageuk removed the COI without any reason except accusing me of libelling him or her; per the laws of the State of Florida, where Wikimedia is based and thus where disputes related to editorial content are resolved, this is not libel. Have a good 'un. Bastin 17:05, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Removing box at top

[edit]

I have done some work to get this page up to date and improve the links and citations. Still some more to do but would suggest we can remove the box. Thoughts? YellowFratello (talk) 17:22, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
