I think that Tomoe Gozen, wife of Yoshinaka who (according to legend) fought beside her husband to the death should be mentioned.

She wasn't his wife. Read the Heike Monogatari she was his retainer. His wife was Imai Kanehira's daughter. Tomoe NEVER died with Yoshinaka she fled to the eastern provinces (in the Heike Monogatari and EVERY other version). According to legend she married Wada no Yoshimori and had a son called Asahina no Saburo Yoshihide with him.
