Gareth Edwards' Godzilla (2014)?
[edit]Would Gareth Edwards' Godzilla (2014) be considered a minimalist Godzilla film? Gareth did say that prior to CGI being used in film, you didn't always get to see the monsters all the time like in Jaws or Alien, which invoked a sense of mystery and intrigue, and his goal with Godzilla was to harken back to that kind of film making.
