This appears to be an entry that discusses a common spelling mistake. It then lurches into the dictionary defintion of Minx (it is pretty common here in the UK in that meaning hence its appearance in Austin Powers and its use by Simon Cowell) and being a dictionary definition got the main Minx entry deleted (I've changed it to a disambiguation page).

I did go looking for something more solid on this and all I came up with are results pointing back here (or to mirrors) and to a page listing common search engine typos. [1] Beyond that we get nothing but typos. I can't think that a common spelling mistake is really worth an entry (Hell I don't think a big assed list of them would be, beyond this I suppose: Wikipedia:Lists of common misspellings) but I could be wrong.

Best solution if nothing is forthcoming: Turn this page into a redirect to Manx Cat. Any references to a Mynx can be put into the Sphynx (cat) entry and the redirect from Mynx pointed there. If someone wants to start an entry on the Mynx they can do so there not here. (Emperor 01:27, 1 December 2006 (UTC))

I've changed the disputed tags to split ones. I can't find a proper tag to describe what needs doing. The dictionary definitions of minx need discarding (as they are covered in wiktionary), the material on the Mynx* should go to the Sphynx (cat) entry (and that redirect changed to point to that) and the material on it being a common spelling mistake can either be removed or put in Manx cat (and this entry redirected to that). I suppose I could put this up for deletion and then we could add any notable bits into other entries but I'd prefer to go the splitting route first. (Emperor 02:44, 1 December 2006 (UTC))

More keeps being removed from this page and there is little left and a lot of that could be safely removed. As there have been no objections in a few days I'll split this page up and turn it into a redirect. (Emperor 23:16, 6 January 2007 (UTC))

What about the Hillman Minx?

I don't see "Minx" as an adjective. It's a noun. Using it to describe a cat seems redundant ("she's a minx" means something like "she's catty," I thought -- "a minx" is some sort of fighting feline).

The Hillman Minx car, in the 1950's, was a very small automobile (smaller than a Volkswagen beetle)-- its name probably meant to suggest that it was sprightly and energetic despite its tiny size and low power (I only know of it that our family owned two of them -- a grey one with yellow ear-flaps, and later a red one -- the Minx could not go fast, so its driver had to outwit other cars rather than overtaking them...).

Perhaps the minx relies more on wit and slyness than on physical strength? Ameliaz 03:07, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
