Notability concerns[edit]

Christophe Miossec is a well-known singer in France, even if few people abroad may have heard of him. I had found many other pages about french singers well known in France but almost unknown elsewhere. I believed Miossec had his place on Wikipedia.arikel 21:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide proof that the singer meets this guideline. Thanks. J Milburn 22:56, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A biography on RFImusique.

Another biography on french-music.org.

Rencontre au fil de l'eau, a review on the book about Miossec and Cali written by Grégoire Laville and Yves Colin. in french

Concerts planned.

Albums available at cduniverse.

Christophe Miossec at imdb is almost empty.

An article about Miossec on the newspaper L'Express in french

Is any of these the start of a good proof? arikel 01:07, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm convinced. The concerts and CDUniverse pages do not count as notability proof, and IMDB cannot be used as a source at all. However, the others look great. J Milburn 16:18, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In spite of the success of their single Les yeux de Laura, Miossec halted his promising music career.
Indeed, "les yeux de laura" had a little success, it was in the top50 in 1987 for 12 weeks, but it wasn't a single of Printemps Noir. It was a cover by "goûts de luxe", a nowadays-forgotten new-wave band. One of the member Jacques le Honsec was from Brest and he "stole" the title and some lyrics, but changed the music and the song a lot. Many years later, Miossec met Jacques le Honsec. The later apologized for "stealing" their song but the former answered it wasn't a big deal and that things were probably better that way.
In conclusion, Printemps Noir never had a big big success out of Brest and the musical career of Miossec was not promising at the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.195.214.68 (talk) 23:29, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
