Article lacks WP:A to establish WP:N

[edit]

Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to establish notability, and the author has not provided any ... without them, this is just original research, which is prohibited by official policy.

The author has removed the {{db-bio}} tag placed by another editor without offering any real improvements to the article, so I have restored it ... read WP:3RR and do not remove the tag again. —68.239.79.97 08:11, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is on a reliable source. It is in the Encyclopedia Iranica published by Columbia University: [1] and gets lots of google books hits: [2]. --alidoostzadeh 08:14, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources#What is a reliable source? ... that page is hardly a reliable source by Wikipedia standards ... Google does not count towards Wikipedia:Notability (people) ... you can put {{hangon}} on the article, but do not remove the tag again. —68.239.79.97 08:22, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See [[3]] It is a project of Columbia university. There is an Encyclopedic article on him also in the Encyclopedia of Islam. As well as Encyclopedia Iranica. It will take time to expand the article. It has just started. --alidoostzadeh 08:23, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not the author

[edit]

and in my opinion Encyclopedia Iranica is a reference source of the highest academic quality, and authoritative within its field. It is listed on the reference pages of all major university library sites, and it is so important it has an article in WP: However, it should be cited it only if you have actually read the article in it. In any case, Speedy is not for lack of sources, unless there is no claim whatever to notability. Please check CSD. I think the article is perfectly well sourced, and N. If you still think otherwise, you are welcome to take it to afd, but I am sure you will understand after checking. DGG 08:31, 22 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Yes it will take some time to expand the article but it is well sourced in Iranica [4] with much more references. Probably an expert in islamic philosophy is needed to expand the article fully. But basic information about life and work can be given for the moment. It has to start somewhere. Also it seems this anonymous users puts a tag on every new article without giving it a chance. --alidoostzadeh 08:35, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I find it very amusing that someone would dispute the Encyclopedia Iranica as being a reliable source of reference and attempt to have an article deleted out of ignorance. That's just laughable. Atashparast 08:41, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
