Infobox

[edit]

@LouisAragon: Hello. As I'm not aware of any rules about whether old or modern scripts should be preferred in the native_name parameter, I don't think including the modern script should create any problems. We could include them both if you'd like.

I imagine when you mentioned "sourced content", you were referring to the information about Erivan Khanate's vassal status. I removed it because I don't believe the Khanate's political status is relevant enough to the artist be in the infobox. It could, of course, be mentioned in the article body. You are absolutely right that I should've added source for the birth name, it slipped my mind. The source is the Great Soviet Encyclopedia and I'd like to add it back if you don't object. — Golden call me maybe? 21:46, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've partially restored the edit as you haven't replied in a week. — Golden call me maybe? 12:03, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I restored the "Qajar Iran" part in the infobox. First of all, modern RS views the Erivan Khanate as a province of the Qajars, not a vassal. Secondly, according to the cited RS within this article, Irevani painted paramount figures of Iranian mythology (Rostam and Sohrab) as well as contemporaneous Iranian nobility (e.g Fath-Ali Shah, Abbas Mirza). In addition, according to the same cited RS, Irevani's painting style represented typical Persian miniatures and lacquers. Based on these three arguments, the re-inclusion of "Qajar Iran" to the infobox is relevant, sourced and WP:DUE weight. - LouisAragon (talk) 00:35, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
PS: 'Mirzə Qədim İrəvani' is anachronistic and nothing suggest he ever wrote in Azeri Turkic, nor that he lived in a country that used Azeri Turkic as its official language. But that's a discussion for another day. - LouisAragon (talk) 00:35, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
