Main pic

[edit]

The main pic that was included, a preview of an upcoming comic, is a spoiler and doesn't belong in the SHB. CovenantD 23:16, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The main pic was the cover of an upcoming comic. It is public knowledge, as it appears in previews as well as the DC Comics website. I don't see how a comic book cover is a spoiler. Doc Comic 17:52 PM, 13 July 2006

Look at the background characters in that pic, think about their current status, and what does that say about her fate? That's too much information. CovenantD 23:05, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm simply saying that that's a comic COVER. It's public. It's a widely known thing, like the cover of a novel. If DC wants the reader to know when they see it on the newsstand, then it's not a spoiler. Doc Comic 23:10, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's promotional art for a comic book that is not yet for sale. That's the point - it's not yet for sale, and hence doesn't belong in the SHB. Use the pic from TT#37 instead. Or remove the background characters. There is no way to put a spoiler notice on a pic in the SHB. CovenantD 23:16, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I used the one DC released for their solicts, with the characters behind her removed.
Can the cover be mentioned in the article under a spoiler template? --DrBat 02:05, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nice job, thanks. I don't think it could be counted as anything other than speculation on my part right now, and I really hope I'm wrong. CovenantD 04:25, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Danvers

[edit]

Is there any documented connection between Miss Martian and Linda Danvers (Post Crisis Supergirl)? There seems to be definite costume similarities, and similar ages between the two.

That's a really big stretch. It would be interesting, however, if she were Matrix's replacement. --Chris Griswold () 17:22, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not Evil

[edit]

Have they explained that yet? The previous appearances of White Martians have shown them as psychopaths bent on world conquest. Have they explained the difference between her and the rest? (other than the part where the stated she had lived in Vega)--Marhawkman 15:40, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can think of one exception. They haven't done that with the Qwardians yet. Of course if the opposite happens (Like the Guardians) there will be at least one who is almost pure evil. *goes off to scrutinize all comic appearances for clues*--Marhawkman 18:55, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, yeah they did. Twice. It first was done back in 1992, in the second issue of the Guy Gardner Reborn mini. The nameless Qwardian is imprisoned for the crime of gentleness, and is discovered by Guy and Lobo. Lobo comments "I was a fluke too. The only killer on a world o' sweethearts. He's the only sweetheart on a world o' killers. He's... Me." Lobo then kills him, saying "Dumb jerk's better off."
The second time was Kaliber, a Qwardian Destroyer, created a few years later in the pages of Superboy and the Ravers. In issue #8 of the series the Ravers visit Guy Gardner's bar and Kaliber learns (off panel) what Lobo did in GGR #2. He is quite angered, declaring "If what the Warrior told me is true... Lobo will pay for his crime! This I swear!" 172.165.121.252 17:20, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It was stated in TT#39 that her parents sent her to Vega when the War between the white and Green Martians erupted. But it's somewhat ambiguous as to whether this is true, since it was part of her history that included being a GREEN martian. It could be that the only incorrect detail was that she was a White, or it could be she made up the entire story.--Marhawkman 19:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whites and Greens are separate races of the same species, based on philosophical differences. So no, it isn't explained to the extent that her being a White makes sense. But perhaps her personal philosophy has led her to take on the appearance of a Green rather than the White body she was born with. --Chris Griswold () 22:08, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. It WAS stated that her refusal to probe the minds of "good people" was a part of her personal philosophy. However, it does seem likely that she chose her appearance because she knew humans were distrustful of white Martians. But it's still not explaine why she follows the philosophy of the Greens instead of the White Martians--Marhawkman 21:17, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most likey she's there verson of a psycho, while ours show no empathy, remorse, anxiety or guilt ect, theirs would be kind and careing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.38.69.230 (talk) 04:01:25, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

GA Nom

[edit]

Hi fellas. A few suggestions:

Get some dates on. When did this character appear? I see the issues, but that doesn't talk to me. What are white and green martians? The article should be able to stand on its own legs. Why is she wearing a miniskirt version of someone else's outfit? Are they related? Who created her, and why? Is she popular? Notable? Has she been commented upon? There are a few unsourced statements (like her powers, link to the issues), and poor wording at some places. I sugges to expand the article as a first step, and add as much real world info as possible. Something already linked in the body of the article doesn't need to figure in the See Also section. --SidiLemine 11:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think a lot of those questions will be answered sometime after the character has appeared in more than five comics. --Chris Griswold () 13:07, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that indicates that the nomination is a little premature, then -- if the character is that new, and significant additions are anticipated shortly as more information is revealed, then the article isn't yet stable. I'm not going to fail it outright, but I think it'd stand a much better chance in two or three months, if that's the case. Shimeru 09:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I think too. --Chris Griswold () 16:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Failed GA

[edit]

As of [1], the article during the review, I failed this article for Good Article status. Basically, this article is still a stub article, thus it is not yet ready for GA. The lead is too short, the coverage is not broad enough (read more in WP:FICT and WP:WAF) and it still needs a lot of research and expansions. Please dig more about this subject and don't forget to supply it with reliable sources. Browse more about similar subject in the WP:GA list and when you feel the article is ready, you can renominate it again. As always, when you feel disagree about my review, you can submit it into WP:GA/R. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 11:21, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kid Devil

[edit]

Will people quit removing the line about him? It WASN'T Raven that said it. IT WAS M'Gann.Marhawkman 02:15, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vegetarian?

[edit]

Where'd they state that?--Marhawkman 22:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Affair with Tim Drake?

[edit]

I think it's reading an awful lot into a birthday kiss to conclude it reflects an illicit affair. Is there other support for this that I'm missing? If not, I think the reference should be removed. JackofSpades (talk) 19:51, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I considered this myself. I don't see any real reason to consider them an item.--Marhawkman (talk) 04:54, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Origin

[edit]

That one Martian Manhunter series where he finds Green Martians who he finds out are actually White Martians, I'm not sure but isn't Miss Martian the one of them that survived the whole thing? Tyciol (talk) 08:16, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NO! :P I have read both series. Till'All and M'Gann M'Orzz are not the same.--Marhawkman (talk) 10:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Creation and development

[edit]

Found this article about creation and development [2], it's pretty much a summary of previous published stuff at Wizard, only more detailed. The problem is it's a blog; the upswing is it's from an established comics journalist. Figured I'd leave it here for discussion to decide. -Sharp962 (talk) 15:51, 18 September 2009 (UTC).[reply]

*reads* Nah, don't see anything worth adding to the article. Might make a nice additional source for the concept origin though.--Marhawkman (talk) 04:32, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Teleportation

[edit]

Teleportation is listed here under Miss Martians Abilities in the Box in the up-right-corner, but it isn't included in the Article itself under Powers and Abilities and I don't think, that's one of her Superpowers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.76.213.199 (talk) 07:21, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Misredirect

[edit]

While reading the page on Miss Martian, I clicked on the hyperlink named "Green Martian" and was redirected to Martian Manhunter's page. Is there a page on the Green Martian race, and if there is, could someone please change the link? RealActualNoob (talk) 17:34, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
