  •  Done "Miss Meyers died in March 1953"???
    • Obviously I'm not allowed to have typos, huh?
      • These may be allowed at FAC, but certainy not at GAN :-)
  •  Done The "Pedigree" section has no citations. If nothing else I'd incl a citation in the family tree diagram, see e.g. Chelicerate#Major_sub-groups. If that were resolved, I would not worry about lack of text, as the diagram says it all.
    • Now cited. I brain farted this. Ealdgyth - Talk 23:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • I think you should have followed through. --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
        • It's early, what are you trying to say? I'm missing whatever you're meaning. There are two citations on Miss Meyers' name in the pedigree, which cover the whole pedigree. Ealdgyth - Talk 11:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
          • Just did a CTRL-F5 refresh and yes, there are 2 citations in Miss M's box. --Philcha (talk) 11:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done To a non-expert eye (mine) the family tree at "Pedigree" runs from right to left, contrary to normal useage. Is this a convention in racing?
    • this is the template used, which sets it this way. I'm at the mercy of the template. Horse pedigrees can run either way (and I've seen them done either way) Ealdgyth - Talk 23:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Sounds like the template should be enhanced with a "which way" option. --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done "Legacy" is very thin. I'd be inclined to move the last 2 sentences of "Race career" into "Legacy" and retitle "Legacy" to "Assessment".
    • I've just combined the two sentences in legacy into the previous section and retitled it broodmare and legacy.
      • Thanks, an equally good solution. --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Done In "Race career", should w-link at first instance, "won seven stakes races".
  • While I hate the word "choppy" in reviews, "Race career" looks choppy to me - lots of short sentences. --Philcha (talk) 23:17, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I welcome copyedits (grins). Ealdgyth - Talk 23:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Your usual farrier is cheaper and better :-) --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Things I missed last time:

  •  Done What did Miss M die of? Doh! --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know. We're lucky we know the month she died. Some horses we don't know the exact year. Ealdgyth - Talk 11:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Need citations for the 2009 re-indexing of 1950s money values. --Philcha (talk) 05:37, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's from the inflation template so whatever that uses. Ealdgyth - Talk 11:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked at {{inflation}} and there are complications:
    • I know some of the templates' sources, e.g. measuringworth.org. These government stats generally appear 18 months to 2 years later (not laziness, for once; it's difficult). However the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has just published an estimate for 2Q2009, so a claim of "as of 2009" is plausible, although the offical figures will come later. --Philcha (talk) 11:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • For some sources, including measuringworth.org, I know that both price and income inflators are available; the income inflator gives higher values, because of increases in real earnings ("standard of living"). Which tracks prize money growth more closely? --Philcha (talk) 11:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • There are no refs for the inflation adjustments! Is it possible for the template's developer(s) to add a ref as part of the output, depending on the currency-dependent source they used. --Philcha (talk) 11:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly? Malleus puts in some footnote in that I hardly pay attention to. I'll copy whatever he's using on Chicado V in a few. Ealdgyth - Talk 12:11, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the footnote template {{Inflation-fn|US}} which I'll put in now. Ealdgyth - Talk 12:12, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have a word with Malleus - inflation adjustments are a tricky business. In the meantime, section "Broodmare and legacy" has 3 adjusted figures that also need refs. --Philcha (talk) 12:40, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • In this context I presume "TB" is not short for tuberculosis? --Philcha (talk) 06:05, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's short for Thoroughbred (grins) I'll add that in. Ealdgyth - Talk 11:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You've placed the footnote link in a position that's logical (the nearest ancestor that was a TB) but counter-intuitive (in the middle of the chart in terms both X and Y co-ordinates). What's the usual practice? --Philcha (talk) 11:56, 25 August 2009 (UTC)/[reply]
I've got it in a similar spot in Chicado V, but I think it's elswhere in Easy Jet and Go Man Go. Tell me which one you prefer and we'll go with that. (I really am just waking up here... so somewhat sluggish). Ealdgyth - Talk 12:11, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You mean I've been talking to a zombie for the last hour? Aaaaargh!
At Chicado V and Go Man Go, the "TB" note is also at the nearest ancestor that was a TB, but in these cases the nearest TB ancestor is fairly close to top and left. The difficulty at Miss M is that the nearest TB ancestor is buried in the middle of the diagram. My own preference would be to place the note at the highest entry, but you might want to discuss with other horse fans.
PS there's no "TB" note at Easy Jet, unless I'm suffering from neurological flatulence. --12:40, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
I can put the (TB) at Joe Blair, which is the highest spot on the pedigree. I also fiddled with the race section prose a hair. Keep in mind this is GA level prose, not FA. (And you really should start reviewing at FA...) Ealdgyth - Talk 14:41, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have no intention of reviewing at FA as I have no intention of nominating at FA - WP:MOS:creep is a turn-off. --Philcha (talk) 16:33, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question about associated Photo[edit]

The Photograph associated with the article is clearly not of Miss Meyers. the photo is actually of a Shetland pony. Miss Meyers is a much darker and larger horse with a white sock on her left hind leg. See thumb|right|upright|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Missmeyers.jpg for a picture of the real horse in question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luggw1 (talkcontribs) 12:40, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism - fixed. Ealdgyth - Talk 12:56, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism!!!!![edit]

Just because this article is today's featured article, this article (and, from the looks of it) all articles about racehorses are been vandalized (including the photos in the infobox). Could someone please contact an adminitrator to resolve this? Thank You.--Halls4521 (talk) 21:55, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have semi-protected one week. --John (talk) 22:45, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that not only the article an the template:Infobox named horse have been vandalised, but also (and most importantly) the template:Horse infobox, which should normally redirect to Infobox named horse (see). I think it should be semi-protected too --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 22:51, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Or maybe not, since IPs can't edit the page any more for a while. Anyway, just for your information --M.L.WattsAir Mail ✈ 22:55, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replacing archive links[edit]

Ealdgyth Just added AQHA Hall of Fame inductees category. And replaced archive links to her induction page with live link at AQHA web site. Used your desired format per our discussion on Easy Jet's talk page. Being very cautious with these featured articles. dawnleelynn(talk) 23:11, 1 September 2017 (UTC) Was checking for broken links and saw an archive link that needed replaced in External Links checked. Replaced it. dawnleelynn(talk) 20:35, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ealdgyth I can't decipher the source for her earnings. It appears that the citations are to sources for adjusting for inflation. Am I missing something? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:24, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've inserted the references that got chopped up by the annoying inflation crap. I'd honestly rather strip out those conversions, but folks insist on them.. Ealdgyth (talk) 18:38, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done, unwatch, thanks (hope you are well)! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:18, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
