Jenna Talackova

[edit]

The redirect for Ms. Talackova, which directs here, should be turned into an article. As the first transgendered woman to compete in a major nationwide beauty pageant, she is a major news story, with 513 google news hits (not sure of the regular ghits).Mercurywoodrose (talk) 06:55, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Origin

[edit]

I removed the "Origin" column. It seems at best, a minor point of trivia. At worst, a suggestion that some aren't quite as Canadian as others. It is also entirely undefined, and hard to define. For example, Nova Stevens is listed as having an "origin" in "South Sudan", but according to her article she was born in Kenya. She's lived in Kenya, Canada, and the USA; but there's no mention of her ever being in South Sudan. So, if "Origin" is ancestral, a person could obviously have many "origins". We link to South Sudan and the flag of South Sudan, but South Sudan didn't have a flag, or exist as a recognized sovereign country until well after her birth. This is just one example. I'm sure equal issues could be found in numerous cases. --Rob (talk) 00:33, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
