Requested move 10 August 2018[edit]

The result of the move request was: Withdrawn – it sounds like this all needs to be hashed out in a mass-move to determine whether the August 2015 moves were valid or not. --IJBall (contribstalk) 20:00, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

– As per WP:NCTV: "Prefix the country of broadcast (adjective) – (U.S. TV series), (Canadian TV series)...". Thus, these two should be disambiguated with the adjective form – "(Singaporean TV series)" – not the noun form – "(Singapore TV series)". See other examples: Crimewatch (Singaporean TV series), Together (Singaporean TV series), The Hotel (Singaporean TV series), Baby Blues (Singaporean TV series), Love Me, Love Me Not (Singaporean TV series), Baby Boom (Singaporean TV series), etc. --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:55, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Tentative oppose - "Singapore" is listed as an adjectival alongside "Singaporean" on Wikipedia's list (linked from NCTV) and elsewhere, so it would be acceptable (note the article we have at Singapore English not "Singaporean English"). Singapore already ends in a consonant sound, it seems extraneous to add the "-an" (since this is an adjective for the country, not the people of the country). I could be convinced otherwise but I think we should discuss the best way forward and then move all the shows in one pass. I suspect though that this series is correct, and its the others that would need to move. -- Netoholic @ 16:33, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Uh uh – per WP:CONSISTENCY, most of these are already at "Singaporean TV series", so these two should be moved there as well as per WP:CONSISTENCY. If you want to move all of these to "Singapore TV series", that will have to be done under a second, separate mass move request later. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:11, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Not true. The articles were all created using "Singapore", and it was only on August 2015 that Timmyshin moved them to "Singaporean". I'm all for consistent - once we have a full discussion about how to best handle them all. Until then, best not to change any single one. --Netoholic @ 18:08, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
