no dillard's in KC in 1956

the article states "Mission Shopping Center opened in 1956 as the major shopping center for the community of Mission, Kansas. It was designed as an open-air mall with two anchors, Dillard's and Macy's."

Dillard's (if it even existed anywhere) clearly wasn't in Kansas City market in 1956. I think Dillard's only entered KC market in the 80s. I doubt Macy's was an original anchor either; in the 60s i only remember a Macy's downtown and on The Country Club Plaza. The original anchors were probably a Jones Store and Montgomery Wards or Sears Roebuck or J.C. Penney.--98.116.115.220 (talk) 08:55, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

That may be partially true. However, there were Dillard's present in two Kansas City malls in the mid-70s; Oak Park Mall & Metro North Mall (1975, 1976 opening dates, respectively). CloversMallRat (talk) 23:27, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Mission Shopping Center vs. Mission Center Mall and other quirks - recommend "stub class"

article is entitled "Mission Center Mall." yet, first sentence of "History" starts with "Mission Shopping Center."

My memory thinks it opened as "Mission Shopping Center" and after the renovation in 80s-90s was renamed "Mission Center Mall." Whatever the case, the article can't switch names mid stream without looping the loop.

Also, i don't recall it being 2 levels (infobox) at inception (or in 60s-70s when i visited at various occasions). Perhaps that was also part of redo of 80s-90s.

It has been Mission Center Mall most recently: 1989 - date torn down. It is mentioned that it was formerly Mission Shopping Center, but it has not been that for 20 years. The former name is mentioned in the history because thats how it began. CloversMallRat (talk) 23:27, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
