[edit]This article would benefit from a graphic of the satellite. If anyone knows how to navigate the WikiFairUse rules to get a fair use use of an image contained in the Aviation Week news article, that would be most helpful. N2e (talk) 04:47, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Use as a De-Orbiter
[edit]Over the last few months we have had 2 large LEO satellites crash back to Earth. They both lander in the sea, however it is only a matter of time before a satellite crashes into the land. Can the MEV be used to perform a controlled re-entry? Thereby ensuring the satellite comes down in the Pacific Ocean. Andrew Swallow (talk) 10:18, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Good point Andrew. Given their purported design, it would appear it might be able to serve that purpose, especially for vehicles in LEO. I don't know if it will have sufficient delta-V capability (size) to do much with the GEO-orbit vehicles where it is apparently (first) aimed to be used. Having said that, we will definitely need a reliable source before we can add such possibilities to the article. Cheers. N2e (talk) 02:59, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
What type and number of thrusters does MEV-1 have
[edit]What type and number of thrusters does MEV-1 have ? Is it an ion thruster or hypergolic combustion ? What propellant and how much on-board ? - Rod57 (talk) 20:26, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
