"Figures have been updated to include Mittal's acquisition of U.S.-based ISG in 2005 and the planned acquisition by Arcelor of Dofasco."

I've added a bit about the Organisation (of the Company). Important Officers is a better term.--Milki 19:14, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please change this. There will be no acquisition by Arcelor of Dofasco. Thanks. 80.145.105.39 01:54, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I wasn't clear I only added the organisation part not the Dofasco Part.

People please sign comments with ~~~~--Milki 13:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Currency consistancy

[edit]

Because the first talk of currency is in US dollars, I will convert all figures to dollars with English Pounds and Euros in parentheses. Bordello 03:24, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is not a good idea. If the real value is in Euro, we should stick to it. A valu in dollars would always be ambiguous, as you could use the exchange rate of 27 january or that of today, or of an even different date. --Donar Reiskoffer 06:10, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please include links and rankings for Tata Steel as well as CSN as they appear to be in the current headlines regarding their bids for Corus. Thanks. 87.194.76.152 03:43, 15 December 2006 (UTC) NOT LOGGED IN[reply]

Turnover

[edit]

What does "by turnover" mean? Could somebody clarify this please.

Assuming a European accounting context, turnover means revenue or sales. Currently there's a contradiction between this article and Arcelor as to who has the greater turnover. Shawnc 15:08, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page has inaccurate information

[edit]

The following statement, on the Mittal Steel page, is inaccurate: "Mittal's steel mill in Cleveland Ohio has far surpassed the legal amount of pollution it should release."

In fact, the ArcelorMittal Cleveland facility meets all federal and state environmental regulations. It regularly goes beyond most standards. Moreover, its control system emissions of particulate matter average only 31 percent of the level permitted under the federal Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards. Not only does the facility emit less than one-third of what the MACT allows, but it complied with these new standards before it was required to.

I work with ArcelorMittal, and we would like to see this inaccurate statement deleted.

Furthermore, the information that follows it in the section titled "Critcism" is out of date.

It has been removed. Thanks. Hersfold (t/a/c) 22:14, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. 22aaron 22:36, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A quick google search yielded several articles that suggest the statement perhaps should not have been removed at the request of a PR manager for Mittal...

Possibly a useful reference for anyone looking to add a Controversy section back in, I suppose. PrimalBlueWolf (talk) 11:05, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mittal Steel logo.png

[edit]

Image:Mittal Steel logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Mittal Steel was not an Indian company

[edit]

It is inaccurate to describe it as such SaadiSave (talk) 10:54, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
