"The resorts at the remaining white beach tend to be quieter and generally have better rooms. The 3 main resorts are Ravenala, Club Serena and The Blue Orchid Resort. All of them offer both boat and shore diving. The shore diving from White beach is exceptional!! The fish feeding point is located in front of the Blue Orchid Resort whilst both Ravenala and Club Serena also have excellent house reefs. There are several locations for boat diving but the best is undoubtedly at the nearby Pescador Island....a diving paradise with regular sightings of Whale Sharks, Dolphins and Sea Turtles as well as a myriad of smaller sea creatures."

Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) eyes Moalboal as one of the major tourism investment destinations in the province of Cebu. It is one of the assigned urban service centers outside the Metro Cebu according to the Central Visayas Development Plan by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for the year 2017-2022 and 2023-2028. The partially urbanized downtown area also serves as a commercial center, with some residents from the neighboring towns of southwestern Cebu flock to Moalboal due to numerous business establishments spawning throughout the town.

There are two operating shopping malls in the municipality which are the Gaisano Grand Mall Moalboal and Gaisano Town Center Moalboal, both located in Poblacion East.

The tourist flocked areas of Moalboal such as Basdiot, Tuble and Saavedra have several other business establishments such as hotels, resorts, lodging houses, pension houses, spa, bars, and internationally-inspired restaurants mostly located along the Panagsama road.
