Trivia[edit]

  • Lisa brushes her teeth with Glum Toothpaste.
  • Homer eats a bag of Pork Rinds Light.
  • At the Noise Land Video Arcade, the games include Eat My Shorts, PAC-RAT II, Itchy vs. Scratchy, Escape from Grandma's House, and Robert Goulet Destroyer.
  • Among the produce that flies across the room during a school cafeteria food fight is an entire watermelon.
  • There are trophies in a Simpson family living-room trophy case.
  • There is a picture of an erupting volcano on a wall of the Simpson front room.
  • Wendell plays clarinet in the Springfield Elementary orchestra.

Is it just me, or is a lot of this trivia stupid? In fact, apart from the Glum toothpaste note and (possibly) the arcade game list, I'd recommend removing the entire list. Crimson Shadow 03:43, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. oTHErONE 04:04, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok... Obviously they don't like that. oTHErONE 09:56, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deletion[edit]

The amount of times the episode has appeared in the US is really unnecesary. Also, it will (and probably has) changed frequently due to syndication. So I've deleted it. --Natalie 00:15, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Trivia[edit]

'In the episode, Lisa's sax is the normal color for a brass instrument, however in the title and in all other episodes the sax is white with pink buttons.'

It's been brass in almost every episode of the entire series, notably Lisa's Sax. It's only white with pink valves and buttons in the opening. Fixing it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.171.167.228 (talk) 02:40:41, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

It's in the brass color theme in the new openings.--Dan2paul (talk) 12:05, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although the DVD commentary is cited, I don't believe that bleeding gums is based on Blind Lemon Jefferson at all, but rather Sonny Rollins. Can anyone confirm if the DVD really states the former? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.167.217.96 (talk) 10:30, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bleedinggumsm.jpg[edit]

Image:Bleedinggumsm.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have[edit]

I have deleted Ralph Wiggum from the first appearance list because Ralph appears in Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire. He's the santa that has "eyes in the back of his head" I know this is him because on the commentary James said "Early Raplph."

Every source says Ralph first appears in this episode, and in the commentaries they say this episode features his first appearance. That was just an early similar character. -- Scorpion0422 03:22, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No they said early ralph and I know it, "Go get your DVD." I just watched Moaning Lisa too.

GA pass[edit]

More fine work by WikiProject The Simpsons. I am delighted to assign "Good Article" status. Axl (talk) 20:22, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

gag[edit]

Old blind jazz man opens case and shows umbrella to Bleeding Gums Murphy Guy: "I want you to take my sax" Murphy: "That ain't a saxophone, thats just an umbrella" Guy: "You mean I been playing an umbrella for 30 years? Why didn't anybody tell me?" Murphy: hehe, "we all thought it was so funny" hehe Guy: "That's not funny."

oooh man! haha! Hysterical.--EchetusXe (talk) 22:29, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Major depression?[edit]

Was it really that much? I don't think Lisa was clinically depressed, she was just sad and distressed as any person can be because she didn't fit in. A clinically depressed 8-year-old must be a rare thing. I wonder if the person who wrote the article actually knows about psychology. --Agusk7 (talk) 20:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bleeding Gums Murphy[edit]

I really don't think that the links for "Bleeding Gums Murphy" in the body and in the caption of the picture should link to a "List of recurring characters" in which this character is not even mentioned once. Either add him to the recurring character list, or remove the link. It just doesn't make sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.184.157.17 (talk) 12:17, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
