This page is currently a work in progess. I'm going to link it up with the articles about the different modailties as well as add how these modalities are modified to image molecular events. I'm currently finishing up an introductory class in Biomedical Engineering so anyhelp from anyone who has a better grasp of the material at hand would be appreciated.--Stranger 04:16, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Basic familiarity with the field. Edited a bit in order to address the spelling and grammar errors. Certainly could use some filling out.

Removed sentance

[edit]

I removed the sentence that said "This technique is non invasive and without any known secondary side effects." I found there were a few problems with it, the main being that it treats all of "molecular imaging" as one modality when in fact there are many as mentioned later. Second, with some techniques a contrast agent has to be injected, so depending on your definition it could be invasive (I'll grant this isn't a big problem). A bigger problem is that many of the techniques listed on this page utilize ionizing radiation, I do not know if it is fair to classify that as lacking "known secondary side effects."
