The correct citation is Breck, D.W. J. Chem. Ed. 1964(41), 678. I revised the article's references. Here's a link to the article, for subscribers.

Please consider and take into account that agarose and polyacrylamide gels or solutions can act as very efficient molecular sieves in electrophoreses.--Michaoje (talk) 20:27, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MS accronym

[edit]

Please provide a source for the accronym MS, otherwise it will be removed from the dissambiguation page. --CyclePat (talk) 07:36, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It may be almost 5 years after your post, but a quick Google search for molecular sieve "MS" throws up these links:
I'll cite one of the textbooks, seeing as we're supposed to use WP:SECONDARY and tertiary sources. Tomásdearg92 (talk) 23:16, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adsorption vs. Absorption

[edit]

There have been numerous edits incorrectly changing "adsorption" to "absorption." Keep an eye out for these edits, as there is a big difference between the two terms.

References in section titles

[edit]

References do not belong in section titles. That is the case for "Adsorption capabilities" and "FDA approval". It should be changed. --Mortense (talk) 21:58, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture with US coin

[edit]

OK, how big is a U.S. quarter? Could we get another picture, maybe with a proper scale (ie. in metric). Contrary to some people's belief, there are other countries, other than the US. 58.6.45.95 (talk) 01:23, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I fully agree, in the meantime, I've added the diameter of the quarter in the photo. Tomásdearg92 (talk) 16:42, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Introduction

[edit]

This article doesn't have an introduction. It had one in December; what happened to it? I would suggest we replace the original intro, to give readers a brief insight into the subject before plunging them into the detail; if there are no objections I will do so in a few days. Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Molecular sieve. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

3A also used for methanol / ethanol

[edit]

3A also used for methanol / ethanol, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applejack_(drink), under 'Decline in Popularity'. You might want to add to the 'Adsorption capabilities' table. 162.207.203.26 (talk) 18:31, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

application in medical oxygen device

[edit]

I'm just proposing that someone add a mention of the fact that they are also used in oxygen concentrators to remove nitrogen etc to output 95% pure oxygen. This could be added near the sentences about air filtration for firefights.

Also, it seems like there are an excessive amount of parenthesis, even in instances where a comma or new sentence would have been the better choice. 74.75.97.218 (talk) 21:19, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Photo caption does not make sense

[edit]

"A sealed canister, commonly filled with silica gel and other molecular sieves used as desiccant in drug containers to keep contents dry." What does this mean? Equinox 12:12, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I dont think that anyone would object to replacing the image, so I put in a suggestion. The replacement image shows the structure of the aluminosilicate framework that comprises the so-called LTA (Linde type-A, or zeolite-A). Not shown are the Na+ centers that attract the water. Strangely, Wikipedia lacks an article on Zeolite A. --Smokefoot (talk) 17:02, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism?

[edit]

Much of this article from the "zeolite" section down appears to be copied word for word from this page: https://hengyeinc.com/13x-zeolite-uses/

Additionally, the tone of that piece doesn't really match Wikipedia's style. Unfortunately, I think fixing the issue would require a much deeper understanding of molecular sieves than I currently possess. Plasticpickle (talk) 13:44, 1 October 2024 (UTC) @Plasticpickle:[reply]

  • About the plagiarism, your comment is unclear. I guess that you are saying that the Zeolite section is copied from hengyeinc.com? Anything else?
