Louis[edit]

Louis XIV should be at least mentioned in this article. Badagnani 19:12, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a good deal of ill-digested and conflicting material here about M. de Sainte-Colombe's identity. It needs expanding and resolving.--Wetman (talk) 00:36, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

In spite of its confident Wikipedia filename, the image is unlikely to be of M. de Sainte-Colombe, whose first name we don't have. Or of any Frenchman of the second half of the C17. Where did it come from? --Wetman (talk) 15:46, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removing it from the article. — ℜob C. alias ÀLAROB 21:46, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It had been re-added but I removed it once again. --Hegvald (talk) 09:37, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Genealogy[edit]

Too much genealogy. While information about immediate family is valuable (when known) and a bit beyond that may be motivated if it provides relevant background to a subject's work or social position, there is now far too much about a family to which he apparently "may or may not be linked", as the article currently states. If this family is of historical significance, any details about its distant origins and mediaeval members that were possibly-or-possibly-not-related to the composer should be in a separate article. --Hegvald (talk) 09:48, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

27 April 2016 - Structural changes (and a minor content addition)[edit]

I cleaned up some of the grammar and readability, and restructured the article with clearer headings. I did add two sentences which were translated from the French page (about how little is known about his parents or dates, and also about his teachers) -- the information is interesting, but needs a citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.194.72.18 (talk) 23:07, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
