Call

[edit]

The article's phonetic representation of the call of the Montezuma Oropendula spectacularly fails to represent, or even vaguely approximate, the unique quality and complexity of the sound. Once heard, never forgotten, but no one who knows it would recognize it from "tic-tic-glik-glak-GLUUuuuuu", and no one unfamiliar with it would be any the wiser for reading this description. Does anyone know if there is a recording of the song on the internet that the article can link to? Plantsurfer (talk) 22:13, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HjNZ1a0PTY for a recording of the call65.110.254.160 (talk) 16:12, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds to me more like the sound of getting a power-up in a video game. Maybe a bird resource somewhere should run surveys asking people what they think a particular song sounds like; it's hard to get anything objective on this! --Melarish (talk) 05:27, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
