Moon Landrieu Primary?[edit]

The article on Moon landrieu says, " His opponent in the Democratic primary...in the general election." Am I missing something? Did New Orleans have party primaries back then? They don't now. Anybody know? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.8.216.154 (talk) 08:55, 29 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Before 1975, Louisiana had party primaries. Edwin Edwards changed the electoral process to the open primary used today. Praxedis G 16:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

I've added a photo, a sub-optimal old snapshot found on Flickr, which is thus far the only free licensed image of him I've found on line. Having been a member of the Carter administration cabinet one would think there would be at least a few Federal Government photos of him on line, but I haven't found any yet. -- Infrogmation (talk) 18:13, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable source, Hayride, race[edit]

That Landrieu was actually of part African ancestry was a common allegation dating at least to his time as mayor, with the argument from segregationists that it would be impossible for a real white Southerner to be in favor of desegregation for any other reason. If there is good verifiable independent sourcing on the claim "Landrieu is of one-eighths African ancestry", I have no objection to including such information, but as the linked source [1] "The Hayride" is a vehement partisan political organ with a history of proclaiming misinformation as fact (eg [2]), it sounds to me rather repackaging of an old trope - IMO we should either get better verifiable sourcing or cut the claim. -- Infrogmation (talk) 03:59, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the source is clearly Non-Reliable, as it is seen in this Climate Change denial article: [3]. I'm removing the mention in the personal life section following WP:RACIALISM, and add a 'better source needed' in the early life section. Alexcalamaro (talk) 04:42, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
