Relevant and irrelevant info

[edit]

Hi, Morphou Bay is also known as Güzelyurt Bay by the other half of the island's inhabitants. Plus, this article is not the place to discuss whether and why the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is diplomatically recognised or not. This info is already mentioned in the original article. Thanks. -Human like you (talk) 09:14, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1) The text for the picture should contain the name Morphou Bay, otherwise it's tendentious.

2) Writing "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which claims the bay as its own territorial waters." is misleading and tendentious if it is not explained that Northern Cyprus is not recognized. 2003:77:4F1F:1A57:992B:6DE6:ABE2:5F6A (talk) 12:23, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1) On the contrary, not mentioning the alternative name is tendentious.
2) Again, this artilce is not the place to mention unsolved political issues. This is an article about the Bay. You will find plenty of places mentioning your point in for example the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus article. How is it "misleading and tendentious"? -213.74.186.109 (talk) 11:00, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Writing only the Turkish name is tendentious. Writing about "territorial waters of Northern Cyprus" is political and suggests that Northern Cyprus is a usual country, so without the fact that Northern Cyprus is not recognized it is misleading and tendentious. 2003:77:4F14:2E20:D4DD:57F1:A0F:CDAB (talk) 14:17, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of your failed argument, I made other contributions which you have also deleted by undoing my edits. You could have at least kept those changes, but your constant reverting is in no way in good faith. Human like you (talk) 08:57, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There is no consensus to delete the fact that Northern Cyprus is not recognized and to use only the Turkish name. If you were making useful contributions which do not push the Turkish, the Erdogan or the AKP point of view, nobody would revert you. 2003:77:4F1C:9977:8DFF:C574:2F6A:CC74 (talk) 07:51, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are reverting this fact along with other useful contributions. No one else but a couple of POV-pushing, Turkey-hating users are deleting my contributions. Don't you worry yourself please. Human like you (talk) 05:58, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Instead of addressing the issues, user 'Human like you' now resorts to name-calling (calling others "Turkey-hating users"). 2003:77:4F20:9C77:B11C:A049:EF36:BC61 (talk) 13:10, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored content about the historical sites: "historical sites, including the ancient Greek city of Soli and the ruins known as Vouni Palace." However, the reference originally given by user 'Human like you' looks like advertising. So a better reference would be needed. 2003:77:4F3A:4597:792B:2A3:8767:B184 (talk) 21:27, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To avoid further conflicts I also added the Turkish name to the picture caption. So now it reads "Panoramic view of Morphou Bay (Güzelyurt Bay)" which hopefully is acceptable to everybody. 2003:77:4F68:FB38:E173:884C:B939:A3E3 (talk) 08:58, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
