"best known for..."[edit]

I'd say Mills is much better known as the state trooper who finds the Janet Leigh character asleep in her car on the side of the highway in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, or even the recurring role of Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Ben Landru in episodes of the Perry Mason TV series that took place outside of the city of L.A. proper. While I can't say I'm surprised to hear he was on Bonanza, I wasn't aware of any appearances there until now. He caught my attention in a handful of Mission: Impossible episodes and an Audie Murphy Western, Ride a Crooked Trail. Ted Watson (talk) 18:41, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reliability of sourcing for paragraph about death[edit]

Mareisland03 and I disagree about inclusion of the paragraph "He died June 6, 1993. Per bio in IMDB, it was first reported he had been smoking in bed, and died in the fire. After the autopsy, it was determined he had died of a heart attack, and the fire was subsequent to his death."

After I removed the paragraph, it was restored it with the edit summary "death per IMDB bio. who the hell are you to say that IMDB is not a reliable source?" The unreliablity of IMDb is not my decision; I just cited (in my edit summary) WP:IMDB, which I think states the case clearly. "The content on IMDb is user-generated, and the site is considered unreliable by a majority of editors. ..."

I might also note that WP:USERGENERATED says, in part, "Examples of unacceptable user-generated sources are Ancestry.com, Discogs, Facebook, Famous Birthdays, Fandom, Find a Grave, Goodreads, IMDb, ..."

I don't know why this article would be an exception to the consensus noted in WP:IMDb. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:25, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
