Intro[edit]

"Motif is a word used by folklorists who analyze, interpret, and describe the traditional elements found in the lore of particular folk groups and compare the folklore of various regions and cultures of the world based on these motif patterns. Ultimately, folklorists identify motifs in folklore to interpret where, how, and why these motifs are used, so they can understand the values, customs, and ways of life of unique cultures." This is a hideously bad intro. Someone who knows what motifs actually are please rewrite this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A000:DFC0:6:5C27:26FE:2917:E9 (talk) 02:02, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

Is there any particular reason why this entry is not simply titled "Motif-Index of Folk-Literature"? This would seem to be a more logical approach to me. Unless anyone objects, I'll move the article and reconfigure it around the aforementioned new title. :bloodofox: (talk) 22:17, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
