Napoleonic Wars and Holdfast: Nations At War[edit]

It seems that the game Holdfast: Nations At War was heavily influenced by the DLC Napoleonic Wars from this game. The gameplay is almost the same and there are many similar classes. Is there not more information about the influence from this DLC on the game? I have played both and both the DLC and the game have a very acting player community. Expansion?[edit]

Requires Steam[edit]

Should mention that the expansion requires Steam. Even if you buy a physical copy it will automatically boot Steam and install as a Steam game. The reason why I didn't buy it digitally was to avoid the terrible Steam service, ugh. 75.74.188.74 (talk) 04:56, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Steam section as-is is pretty silly.. Steam is hardly a draconian solution eating your computer's resources. If your computer can run Mount&Blade satisfactorily, Steam shouldn't even be a blip on your resource radar.

It is not so much as "Steam eats resources" instead of "Steam is not mod-friendly." Try modding GTA:SA or Oblivion with Steam. It's a nightmare. 75.74.188.74 (talk) 18:05, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It may come down more to the game than Steam. There's absolutely no problem modding Company of Heroes, ARMA2, IL2 1946, or indeed Warband. Mods[edit]

There should be a section on mods, including a list and reviews of some kind (perhaps metascore numbers), including indications of popularity. Bugginess/unfinished mods should be noted. Links to mod sources would also be good. This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

The final few lines of the article's segment on the "Napoleonic Wars" DLC (quoted below) are a purely subjective opinion, lacking any form of evidence or citation. Given that there is no way to prove the comments either way (as far as I am aware those comments have never been vindicated by any major review of the product or company) those lines should be removed.

The comment in question:

Flying Squirrel Entertainment's relationship with the community has deteriorated rapidly since release, and they have faced an increasing level of criticism from the player-base, partly due to the infrequent and bug-prone content patches, lack of optimization, failure to address key concerns and general mismanagement of the community.
