@Marisauna (continuing from my talk page) Go for it, if I notice anything incorrect, Ill fix it :) DarmaniLink (talk) 16:57, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll start as soon as I'm able. Marisauna (talk) 12:52, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just did a quick find-and-replace in order to apply the transl template to the word "moyai." I may have broken some references in the process. Either one of us should be able to fix this quickly. Marisauna (talk) 13:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I hope to add section anchors soon, as well as make more substantive textual changes. I have an idea in my head of what I would like the article to look like, but I haven't realized this yet. Marisauna (talk) 13:50, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Go for it :) DarmaniLink (talk) 13:56, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm basically finished with my changes, the only section I haven't finished yet is the one about the emoji. Let me know what you think. Marisauna (talk) 13:49, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[A Miracle Happened]
A few days ago I tweeted "The Shibuya Moyai statue that my grandfather made has been dirtied by exhaust fumes and smoke from the nearby smoking area, sadly. I want to do something about it." Many people gave us their strength and support. (What was once) decades of stains were made beautiful!
Thank you all very much! I'm grateful for the power of SNS. "

It would have been preferable to use the tweet he's referring to, however, it's since been deleted AFAICT

I have the tweet in a template ready for insertion, though, its pretty large, so I'm not sure where to put it. Can we take a subsection of the tweet, and cite it to this one?

There may be some good leads for additional information here for the shibuya moyai (the most famous/notable one) in particular. Maybe we could add a translated quote from him on something else.

I think a quoted tweet would be a good addition to the article. Japan has pretty strict freedom of panorama, so pictures of these statues are hard to come by; the lack of photos for the Shibuya moyai (which is copyrighted) really sticks out. Something like this tweet would add a little more heft to the article, especially if the pictures we have now are deemed illegal at some point and taken off Commons.
