I noticed that a new editor recently tried to nominate this article for deletion improperly, likely due to lack of familiarity with deletion policy (I'm in the same boat somewhat) and not seeing the previous AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shams-ul-haq Azeemabadi. Suffice to say that because he is the most prominent person to comment on one of the six canonical books of Sunni Islam, he is quite notable but I understand why a person reading this article wouldn't realize that. The article is poorly written and totally lacking in sources. I am confident that, given the time and effort of concerned editors (I volunteer some of my editing time as well), the notability of the subject can be established. This will, of course, required translation; an unfortunate aspect of notable Muslim religious figures is that much of the sources material is in languages other than English, but given that translations on the part of Wikipedia editors are allowed in certain circumstances, I don't see that as a major issue.
