Is he a Sunni or Shiite?[edit]

If he is from Iran I guess he is not a Sunni but a Shite, right?

He was from Kuwait Gazkthul (talk) 12:31, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Leader of Khorasan[edit]

al-Fadhli is described by many sources as the leader of Khorasan, however according to NPR [1]:

"The only member of Khorasan who has been talked about publicly is a man named Mohsin al-Fadhli. He is widely reported to be the group's leader, and there is some question as to whether he was killed in those first airstrikes in September. U.S. officials say they do not believe al-Fadhli is the group's leader; rather, he is Khorasan's No. 3 man, in charge of the group's external operations — in other words, in charge of launching attacks against the West. Officials are equally concerned about the man they believe might be directing the group: an Egyptian named Mohammed Islambouli." and according to Foreign Policy [2]:

"The information I have does not place him as the leader of the Khorasan Group, but rather the leader of their external operations wing,” Gartenstein-Ross told Foreign Policy, adding that Fadhli’s relative youth — he was reportedly 34 — made it unlikely that al Qaeda would place him in overall charge of the group. “It’s unlikely that he’s actually the emir of the organization,” Gartenstein-Ross said. “The actual leader … is Mohammed Islambouli, who’s a more veteran [jihadi]." "Death"[edit]

Shouldn't al-Fadhli's death be described under the heading of "assassination"? He did not die of natural causes, by accident, in battle - or by court-ordered execution after a fair trial.Royalcourtier (talk) 22:06, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
