Name of the park

[edit]

The Unesco WHC lists it as "Muskauer Park / Park Muzakowski". Why "Park von Muskau" then ? --Lysytalk 15:48, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In German use the term "Park von Muskau" is common. -- €pa 23:32, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But this is English Wikipedia. I think we should move the article to Muskauer Park, per the name used in the lead.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  04:12, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I oppose the proposal of Piotrus. By using this approach, we would then have to rename Białowieża Forest to "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" [1]. For users not familiar with German von Muskau is clearer than adjective Muskauer JanSuchy 19:04, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I support the proposal, Google results for "Park von Muskau" yield only 66 results compared to 26,300 for "Muskauer Park". Moreover as previously stated the official name as listed on the website is Muskauer Park / Park Muzakowski[2]JRWalko 19:37, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I would like to suggest moving it to either Muskauer Park or Park Muzakowski. The current name is incorrect.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 19:20, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Polish-German collaboration

[edit]

I think the sentence an exemplary example of cross-border cultural collaboration between Poland and Germany should be removed. It is absurd as the park was created in 1815, when the area was right in the middle of the the Kingdom of Prussia, and Poland did not exist politically. --Rodemont2

I believe that UNESCO is referring to the modern day efforts of park operation. Both countries are participating in the restoration of buildings and the maintenance of the park. The park has changed a lot in recent years through these efforts. JRWalko 15:06, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split castle from park?

[edit]

I think we should have a separate article about the castle. Thoughts? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 17:42, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
