Tidy this up!

The last time I made a slight modification to this page, it was short but nevertheless reasonably consistent. Now it reads as if a lot of information has been taken verbatim out of a magazine! I assume whoever it was who added the extra info is a fan, possibly from the Phillipines, so the fact that the information is out of date (at least a year old, from before Mutya left the Sugababes) seems rather irritating. I've reverted the article back to the version saved by me on the 18th of August. Please copy edit the additional text if you want it put back in, please. Tozznok 23:27, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Fix It Up

This page is in poor shape, please upload a newer photo of Mutya and re-edit the page to make it look professional, it looks really bad.

-Misteeqfan3

Yeah, you can hardly see her face in that photo! CC 91 17:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Munter?

Is this really a relevant or fair comment for an encyclopedia entry?

Errr... what are you talking about? Also, please sign your commentshippi ippi++++ 11:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Cleanup

I've added both the cleanup and expand tags to the article. The pre-solo section of the article is well written but the solo section is a mess and is full of statements that need credible citations. Jamie 15:45, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Explanation

Who is this? Ive never heard of her, and this page doesnt even begin to tell me about the person in question, what they did to grant wikification, and no pagelinks or offsite information makes it even more difficult to work out whats going on. - After a bit of research -Trjn 12:44, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Just did a short google, appears she was a member of the 'Sugarbabes', even so, this page should be cleaned up, ill make a short stab at it with what ive gained from around the web, but believe me, im no expert on her-Trjn 13:00, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Hey Dude Dont YOU Know POP??????? You must be from out of space not to know her???
Yeah this person is perfectly notable as a previous member and now a solo artist- she's just released her debut solo single "Real Girl". Im going to remove the notability tag. Leemorrison 18:58, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
If you remove the notability tag, please assert her notability with third-party reliable sources. Otherwise I shall consider AfD, as per above comments. Thank you. Rjgodoy 19:16, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, please. (Sorry, I didn't realise this discussion was at the top whenI added the previous comment) This edit, three whole days before you added the tag, added her chart position at No 11 for "Real Girl". This fulfils the second of the relevant notability criteria. (Yes, it's not sourced, but nor are any other chart positions that I've seen on any other music articles -- if it makes you happy here's the Radio 1 chart page.) The fact that that notability tag has been there for two days just makes Wikipedia look petty and stupid. And I don't even particularly care, I only came here 'cos it was bugging me what the sample was. --86.128.139.22 14:35, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Notability tag removed

This article was tagged as failing to assert notability on the 23rd. I have removed this tag because as far as I can see, criterion 6 on Wikipedia:Notability (music) means that notability is inherited for musicians:

Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable

Mutya contains at least one member of the very notable Sugababes (viz. herself), and this is stated in the article's very first sentence (the Sugababes' obvious notability is established in the first section where their multi-platinum-ness is stated). There is no notability issue here. (She also satisfies criterion 11 now that Real Girl is getting airtime.) --86.128.139.22 14:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

  • I understand that {{notability}} tag does not qualifies for this article. Lack of third-party sources seems more correct. Currently the only third-party reference is http://www.popjustice.com/, but since she is notable there should be another one. Rjgodoy 21:21, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Date of Birth

Mutya's date of birth is incorrect, she was the youngest member of Sugababes and her birth year is 1985 not 1984. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.132.135.85 (talk) 15:46, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Mutya Buena

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Mutya Buena's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference to the single with Paul Morrell

Today I noticed that the hyperlink "Give Me Love" in this article redirects us to the single "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" by Modern Talking! But I think it shouldn't resirect us such way, anyway, because it's also the single of Paul Morrell featuring Mutya Buena and this article tells the readers about it only, not a word of Modern Talking. Please repair it somehow.

Reference to the single with Paul Morrell

Oh, not by Modern Talking, but George Harrison. But it doesn't matter, because not by Paul Morrell anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.153.176.108 (talk) 18:47, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Anyone know the surname of her partner Jay? It'd be better to include it. Jess Cully 17:59, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

On some sites if you go googling there's said that he is Jay Barrymore and Mutya's daughter is Tahlia Barrymore. 95.153.163.242 (talk) 10:11, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

Voice Type

I noticed someone put in her voice type, at least they got it right, she definately is a contralto, no doubt there BrotherDarksoul —Preceding undated comment added 17:42, 29 July 2009 (UTC).

It isn't changed there yet. I still see "mezzo-soprano" on the main page!!! 95.153.191.157 (talk) 17:06, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Proof that she is of "Irish descent"

Where exactly does it say that? Anyone care to give proof?

Twitter, lineage, birth certificate? Blueknightex (talk) 10:39, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

A far as Wikipedia is concerned all you need to do is say you're Irish and it's taken as gospel. Everyone is Irish. --Comnenus (talk) 14:10, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
