[edit]

Hi @Alwayssourced Following on from our discussion on your talk page. [1] is not a suitable source as we discussed. There is no attribution to that site. Court documents are a primary source and not to be included per WP:BLPPRIMARY. The reason the link isn't appropriate is that anyone could have written it. For instance I could write on the Internet that I'm a 6ft blond stunner from Sweden. (I'm a frumpy 50something year old from the UK). Regardless of who has released what documents or statements and given permissions etc, it's not a reliable source. You need a secondary source about the court case but you still have to be careful as to what you write regarding it per [WP:NPOV] As you described the link as being the bands website (it's not, as you later pointed out) it doesn't matter if its from them or Fred Blogs in another country, it's still not a [WP:RS]. The second link contains limited info about the band breaking up then reforming which is fine. It doesn't mention details about the court cases. Unless there is a RS about the court case then it's not suitable to use it for a reference for the court case. As editors we have to be so careful about what is and what isn't included, especially when relating to BLP. I have had a quick look for a reliable source and I can't find anything beyond the second link you included. There is a YouTube vid from the alleged victim but that also isn't suitable for Wikipedia but see what else you can find? Cheers Knitsey (talk) 11:10, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Urgh, I'm a numpty. I didn't ping you correctly, apologies. @Alwayssourced: Knitsey (talk) 11:13, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a discussion. Stop pinging me. I edited a Wikipedia page. Move on Alwayssourced (talk) 12:03, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've pinged you once. This is how Wikipedia works. We need to work together for what is best for Wikipedia. I really want to avoid an edit war and thought we could work together to sort this out as per WP:WHATISCONSENSUS. Knitsey (talk) 12:08, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave this here for now and if you don't want to discuss the matter as per wikipedia policy that's up to you. I will come back at a later date and if there is no response I will seek advice from an admin. Cheers. Knitsey (talk) 12:23, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
