With MSNBC Cable
[edit]All of the other news companies on wikipedia have their website description within the article. Since this article is small enough to become a column it should be moved!--Aikidockd (talk) 22:58, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Yea but the other companies are not split in half being owned by 2 diffrent companies. 2 Seperate pages are required.Sattmaster (talk) 18:51, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
The editor proposing a merger of the two pages does not understand that these are entirely separate companies. They were established separately, and are sisters, or I guess half sisters would be right. MSNBC, a TV network, is owned by NBC and headquartered in New York, while msnbc.com is owned by Microsoft and NBC and headquartered on the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Washington. Different companies. CNN.com is owned by CNN, but msnbc.com is not owned by MSNBC.Extremely hot (talk) 03:30, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
MSNBC Cable is owned also by Microsoft with NBC.--Aikidockd (talk) 07:14, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
No, MSNBC cable is not also owned by Microsoft. MSNBC Cable is owned entirely by NBCUniversal, while msnbc.com is owned by NBCUniversal and Microsoft. As the entry explains, Microsoft did own half of MSNBC Cable, but got out of the joint venture, at first reducing its stake to 18 percent, then to zero. It remains a half owner of a separate joint venture, msnbc.com.Extremely hot (talk) 21:40, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
Separate from MSNBC cable
[edit]MSNBC.com should NOT be merged with MSNBC, because they are two separate entities. One is a news channel, one is an online news source with independent staff and corporate structure.
Now should be lowercase
[edit]The company now uses a lowercase "msnbc.com," except at the beginning of a sentence.

At the beginning of 2013 when MSNBC relaunches their site, the site above should redirect to MSNBC instead of here. We should then put a hatnote at the top of MSNBC directing users who were looking for the site to come here. elektrikSHOOS (talk) 18:27, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
President of NBCNews.com
[edit]"Charles W. Tillinghast, msnbc.com president and publisher since 2004, will step down at the end of 2012.[1]" It is now near the end of 2013 so this prediction is clearly out of date. Did it happen? Who replaced him? At the NBCNews.com site, the "About Us" link leads to an "Executive Team" link which lists no "President" but does list a "Senior Vice President" in charge of all digital NBCNews. Is this SVP the replacement for Tillinghast? Is this even important enough to be in this article? Much less in the intro? Nick Beeson (talk) 13:37, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
