  • Can anyone find a more accurate source for number of bids each school has? I know there were multiple people trying to update the article, which may have lead to some mistakes being made. I updated the number of bids for each conference list and I know it is accurate, but the individual school numbers may be off by plus or minus one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robconstant (talkcontribs) 05:32, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

(UTC)I edited it fully and it looked as good as the orginal, and then someone was messing with it while I was and all the work went away... I had a few hiccups but I put all the code in properly to fit the original format... Sorry..

  • Sorry for the excessive size of this page. Please feel free to divide/remove as you see fit.
  • I think the page's size is acceptable, since there's no reasonable way to break it up. And it's a good list. But should we wikilink the school names? I say yes. | Mr. Darcy talk 17:07, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, linking the schools should be done. Is there an easy way to add links for all of these schools?
  • I'm afraid not. On the bright side, I'm crazy enough to spend the time doing it all by hand, so I'll gladly take on the task when the opportunity presents itself. --fuzzy510 20:36, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for your help
  • I hope my newest revision makes it easier to read.

Northwestern[edit]

Why is Northwestern omitted from the Big 10 on this page?

    • Because Northwestern has never made the NCAA Tournament
      • I am a fan of the UNH Wildcats basketball team: the Wildcats are fun to watch, but they have a long history of futility. I was glad to find a school (Northwestern) with an even longer one. The Huskies are in fact the only team from a big time conference to never make the "Big Dance" (unless you count the WAC as a big time conference.) Great West[edit]

Most of the Division I Independents will join the newly created for all sports Great West Conference, just a reminder!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhetto1025 (talkcontribs) 19:49, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

University of Delaware[edit]

I noticed that the school is listed as making it's last appearance for the CAA in 1999. UD didn't join the CAA until 2001 and all of it's appearances in the tournament were while it was in the America East Conference. Shouldn't the 4 appearances be moved there in order for the list to be accurate? Superman7515 (talk) 03:37, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a Thought[edit]

This would make the page even longer and more complicated than it already is: but, wouldn't it make more sense to list teams by the conference they were in when they appeared in the tournament? Yeah, I know this would make the page about 3 times as long as it is now... Timothy Horrigan (talk) 03:15, 29 March 2013 (UTC) Tim this is an important point, either remove conference totals or properly calculate them based on the conference the school was in when they were invited. Right now it looks absurd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dm103 (talkcontribs) 18:28, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the current setup doesn't make sense. Removing the conference totals makes more sense to me than trying to set up tables with teams that are no longer in a conference listed in that conference, let alone conferences that no longer exist. Ncjon (talk) 19:59, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree. Just wondering if it would be worth the effort to add another column in the "Bids by Conference" table to show the conference's actual historical number of bids. I think views of bids for current membership as well as for historical conference performance would be good numbers. One could compare the two columns for a conference and get an indication of how the strength of the conference has progressed over the years. One would expect that the divergence of totals for the two columns would not be very great for an extremely stable conference, but the expectation is that there would be wide variations in those conferences whose membership is more fluid.LUSportsFan (talk) 23:16, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vacated appearances[edit]

This article appears to include all of the vacated NCAA tournament appearances. These should not be included. Treydavis3 (talk) 03:20, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
