Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.
Links
[edit]Prose
[edit]Lede
[edit]- Per WP:GEOLAND major landmasses don't need a link, so no need to linke North America and Europe in lede. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:58, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Same for the individual countries. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:58, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- association football (soccer) - no need to say soccer. Considering this is an article about a European league it's a bit surprising to hear an American expression like this. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 15:58, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Punter pipes to a redirect. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:08, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
General
[edit]- Same deal with linking to countries not being necessary. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Might be wise to translate the money to today's standards. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Fox became - probably best to say "television company Fox", to stop someone thinking an actual fox had done so (or someone else with that name). Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- NFL Europe League (NFLEL)- no need to use the acronym if it's never used again in the text, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- US$30 no need to say US. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- when eight of the 32 NFL - be a bit careful with MOS:NUM. We expect numbers in the same paragraph to be either spelt or in number form. Consistency Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Andrei S. Markovits and Lars Rensmann - who are these people? Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- annually in London[33] and has also hosted regular-season games in Mexico City and Toronto - just say annually in London, Mexico and Toronto. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Do we need flags in the table per MOS:ICON? Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
- Otherwise everything is grand. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:18, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Review meta comments
[edit]- I'll begin the review as soon as I can! If you fancy returning the favour, I have a list of nominations for review at WP:GAN and WP:FAC, respectively. I'd be very grateful if you were to complete one of these if you get time. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 13:27, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

- Hi! You'll likely get a message when I close this. I've dropped a few comments above for things I've seen, however, it's not enough to distract from a well written article. There's no reason for me not to pass, but if you get time, please check over the above. Passing. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:19, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
