NWA National Heavyweight ChampionshipNWA National Championship – The NWA has dropped the "Heavyweight" part of the name from the title. As seen during their NWA 70 show and multiple times on Twitter.[1]

Austin Idol

[edit]

Could somebody explain why Austin Idol is credited as the first champion? I can't find any information to corroborate this; Wrestling-Titles.com states that Jack Brisco was the first champion, while Idol was, in fact the NWA National Television Champion from 12-Jan-1980 (in his second reign), not the NWA National Heavyweight Champion. Every other site I've looked at says it's Brisco. Morogth (talk) 17:25, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
