Sudden switch PoV push.

[edit]

You don't suddenly switch from said, reports, insists, reported, etc. to claim and parentheticals when the Ukrainian government starts talking.Hilltrot (talk) 00:44, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You do if you are a Soviet (sorry, Russian) propagandist. I am afraid that most articles in any way associated with Ukraine are heavily distorted by Russian espionage and propaganda efforts.Royalcourtier (talk) 22:06, 11 July 2014 (UTC) So ...the logic of this article says that who ever write this article can go and kill Mr Obama and if elected he get immunity.WOW! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.135.27 (talk) 08:00, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Army or airforce?

[edit]

Is she army (ground forces) or air force? She cannot be both. And why was a helicopter pilot serving in an infantry role?Royalcourtier (talk) 22:03, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So many questions! Perhaps she's not a helicopter pilot after all? There are reports that she was not actually a pilot, and was involved in other ground-based activities. Santamoly (talk) 10:05, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As the article says, in 2014 she enrolled as a volunteer to fight in the Aidar Battalion. The Russian and Ukranian articles say that at the same time she remains a Ukrainian officer of the air force, where she took two vacations. — Ace111 (talk) 01:39, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any evidence anywhere that she's a "helicopter pilot"? Has anyone ever seen her in the left or right front seat of any helicopter? The scant clues sure don't point to her being a pilot of anything, even an ultralight gyroplane! Santamoly (talk) 22:18, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP violation

[edit]
  • This edit was a WP:BLP violation - placing a cherry-picked suggestively negative information to paint a living person in a negative light. Reverted. This is an especially terrible edit, given that she is dying right now in prison, after kidnapping and unlawful arrest. My very best wishes (talk) 04:09, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, a year later, she's as fat & healthy as ever, and still nowhere near starving herself to death! I'll check back again next year, maybe she'll have made some progress. Santamoly (talk) 10:21, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Santamoly, stop using this talk page as a soapbox. Given that you've never been involved in it's development, commentary like this is obviously designed to be WP:POINTy, not constructive. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 19:28, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies - I was just observing edits mentioned above based on the claim . However, I admit that I don't have any evidence of the actual extent of her dying or imminent death, just that her courtroom outbursts indicate that maybe she's still quite healthy, not actually "dying". Allow me to emphasise that I'm only interested in probing the encyclopedic quality and accuracy of the hyperbole being published here, before actually contributing to the article, lest I step into the middle of an unexpected ideological quagmire of some kind. Santamoly (talk) 22:59, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I beg your pardon? Are you doctor who's dealt with hunger strike patients? Have you any idea of the difference between how long, protracted famine manifests physically - which is what you're no doubt thinking of - and that of sudden cessation of food intake? Please don't make paltry observations based on an ignorance of the two processes. Appearances can be deceiving. I certainly remember the many Irish hunger strikers, lucid interviews given, and the photos of them shortly before they died... they looked remarkably well nourished while their bodies were feeding off muscle tissue and their vital organs went into shut down. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:09, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, her latest hunger strike caused a significant international reaction. For someone familiar with Russian politics this is actually an omnious sign. Now she may be poisoned in prison at any moment, and the death will be said to result from health complications after the hunger strike. My very best wishes (talk) 14:03, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Without going into predictions, such scenarios are not lacking in precedent... --Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:58, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
My very best wishes, your last post is merely biased conjecture. Along with Iryna Harpy you appear to be hijacking this thread for your own political position. It is FACTS that we need. Acorn897 (talk) 13:38, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Acorn897: Given your editing history(?), I find myself wondering what your involvement here is. We've both gone OTT as to going off topic, but in response to an equally soapy (but, nonetheless, AGF) comment by another user. These things do happen, but for someone who's never been involved in any of the Eastern European articles, your observation appears to be somewhat out of place. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 21:25, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm relieved to report that Miss Savchenko appears to be OK after so much concern was expressed over her apparent imminent death. On March 3, she went on a dry hunger strike in protest of verdict delays. United Nations Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric reported that her lawyer, Mark Feigin, said on March 10 (7 days later) she began to take meals again.[1] Therefore, it's possible that she's no longer "dying right now in prison", and contributors need not be so alarmed for her present state of health. Santamoly (talk) 21:45, 15 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I thought about Anatoly Marchenko who actually died in the Soviet prison after a hunger strike, Magnitsky, Raduev and a lot of others. This is very old tradition, starting from Princess Tarakanova. My very best wishes (talk) 22:35, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So, assuming that Savchenko eventually grows old and dies of natural causes (as we all do sooner or later), we'll one day be able to say that she died "after a hunger strike"? So some here are technically correct that, indeed, she is actually "dying right now in prison". In retrospect, this appears to be an indisputable fact, and I withdraw my suggestion that she may not be "dying right now in prison". Santamoly (talk) 02:05, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
10 months later, we can see that Miss Savchenko is once again venturing about the countryside in obviously fine health, and few are worried any more about her imminent demise. So, with that worry out of the way, can we get back the the $64 question: is Nadiya Savchenko actually a helicopter pilot? Santamoly (talk) 22:27, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Here is quoted source. Where and what exactly does it tell about the SBU? My very best wishes (talk) 13:54, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I missed it. It tells "documents", but the phone billing data were probably among these "documents". Will fix it. My very best wishes (talk) 15:15, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, indeed, the only way I can understand the paragraph is that the billing data were provided by SBU.--Ymblanter (talk) 15:19, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Fixed. My very best wishes (talk) 17:54, 13 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless, it appears that vast majority of RS considers these records true and authentic. However, they have been ignored by the Russian Kangaroo court, along with all other evidence and witnesses provided by her defense team. My very best wishes (talk) 15:39, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Her current popularity in Ukraine is I think WP:NOTNEWS....

Info resist reference

[edit]

I have removed a reference to Info Resist since this is a propaganda outlet and not in any way a reliable source. The reference merely doubled other references confirming the same statement. An IP is edit-warring returning it without comments. Before asking to protect the article or to block them, I open this discussion.--Ymblanter (talk) 17:34, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
