The statement "Later that same year (1965) the school was relocated to its present premises and renamed Namasagali College" is not correct, although I see it is also made by the long-serving deputy head teacher James Gaira in newspaper articles. As a Dip.Ed. student at the then Makerere University College in Kampala in late 1967 I did two weeks "teaching observation and practice" at the school; at that time it was called "Kamuli College, Namasagali". The premises were remarkable, being a former railway depot right on the bank of the Nile. It had been a transhipment terminal where cotton that had been transported across Lake Nyoga by boat was transferred to rail for further transport. The landing stage, together with other facilities on the shores of the lake where the cotton harvest was loaded onto the boats, were flooded in 1961/2 and the ayatem was never restored, so that the Namasagali rail depot was abandoned.
