Note on Refs

[edit]

I will add more refs when I get my CREDO subscription in a few weeks. The subject has received notable press. [1]--KeithbobTalk 18:47, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nice article. She certainly merits the coverage.   Will Beback  talk  22:16, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, I believe Beyond Gurus: A Woman of Many Worlds. Blue Dolphin Publishing. 1993 ISBN 093189249 is essentially an earlier edition of All You Need Is Love: An Eyewitness Account of When Spirituality Spread from the East to the West. I have no idea why it was re-issued with a new name and publisher, but the text is the same.   Will Beback  talk  22:20, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It includes a new chapter that narrates her life after the first edition was published. TimidGuy (talk) 17:30, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Novelists category?

[edit]

Why is she in the novelists category? I don't think she wrote any novels. Here WP article doesn't list any novels, nor does Amazon. TimidGuy (talk) 17:26, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Its true. Her three books were all memoirs, even the one underway at the time of her death. I'll make appropriate changes. --KeithbobTalk 18:03, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The list of celebrities

[edit]

It would be very nice to have a WP:RS or two for the claim that Nancy Cooke de Herrera taught TM™ to Greta Garbo and others in the list given in the article. References for Garbo in particular would be helpful, as the biographies of Garbo I have seen (including the article in WP) do not mention TM, or even meditation in general. The obituary at Voxxi.com mentioned some celebrities, but not Greta Garbo. Even if the references are from de Herrera's books (which are presumably truthful accounts), some reference would be useful. The references to this claim that I have seen seem to be from well-meaning reporters and may originate from TM teachers, some of whom have sometimes been known to exaggerate the involvement of celebrities in their zeal to spread TM. (I say this objectively as a TM practitioner of 50 years myself. I'm not criticizing all TM teachers.) David Spector (talk) 11:08, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
