Language Name[edit]

I'm perplexed by the Nanti -> Pucapacuri name change here. Ethnologue and all the cited linguistics publications refer to the language as 'Nanti'. Kwakigami, could you explain your decision to change the name. You seem to indicate that it is the more common name in 'the source'. Which source? "The ethnic group speaking Nanti is usually referred to as Pucapucari (Pukapukari)" (Eriksen p. 192). We usually try to keep the same name for the ethnicity and their language. Move back if it's a problem. — kwami (talk) 10:42, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnologue, Glottolog, and all publications on the grammar of the language use 'Nanti' as the name. Apart from the cited Eriksen source, which is not based on any direct familiarity with with language, I am not aware of any modern use of the name 'Pucapacuri' by anthropologists or linguists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ldmanthroling (talk • contribs) 02:18, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
