Untitled[edit]

Does he consider himself a secular muslim? Someone without a name suggested that this was so in the cartoons/opinions page, but I have found no reference for it. I have seen him described as a moderate and as an ultra-light muslim, but not secular, and yet he may be.DanielDemaret 09:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe he has refered to himself as a "cultural moslem", meaning that he accept Islam as part of his cultural identity, but not as his personal faith. But I don't have a reference. The phrase "cultural christian" is used in Denmark about people who accept the state church as part of their culture, but don't believe in its articles of faith. This describes the majority of those Danes who consider themselves Christians... --Per Abrahamsen 14:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, he started the movement Democratic Muslims, which promotes secular thinking among muslims.Carewolf 10:31, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason, I can't find Naser Khader when I write his name in the search box. I had to go to his party to find a link to this article. What gives? --Peter Knutsen 17:44, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tax evasion[edit]

The present version states [1]: Qvortrup publishing a story "accusing Khader of tax evasion". Did he really do that? As far as I remember it stated "Sort arbejde hos Khader" (my emphasis), i.e., black work (tax evasion) at Khader with no explicit accussation of tax evation from Khader's part. — fnielsen (talk) 21:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Danish article[edit]

This is a Danish article. This is its google translation. Its best if we come up with an English source, since this is an English encyclopedia. If we keep this source, however, we'll likely need to consult an English-Danish dictionary or something.VR talk 04:54, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do indeed speak Danish and I am reverting you, as your edit is a violation of WP:BLP. Google and online translators may assist but are by no means reliable due the faulty nature and your edit is not totally consistent with what the source says i.e. the heading specifically says "islamism" (Islam in Danish is Islam) and the article says "inspire moderate muslims across the world" as well "globally known" etc. So there is not much to talk about. Feel free to contact other Danish speaking editors. We indeed keep the source just like many other foreign subject articles contain foreign language sources. Further reverts indicate a POV issue on your part regarding Khader. Wikipedia is not the forum to address that. November10 (talk) 17:10, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, can you find an English source on the issue. If BLP concerns are important, lets leave this out, until we get an English source. "who work to promote freedom of speech and inspire moderate Muslims worldwide" is totally non-neutral. For example, that he favors a ban on the burqa calls his "free speech" credentials into question. So a more neutral wording would be: "whose stated aim is to promote freedom of speech and 'inspire moderate Muslims worldwide' ".VR talk 02:41, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, an English source is not rquired, as previously stated many foreign subject articles operate with foreign (reiable) sources. So no need to leave it out as there is a reiable source added albeit in Danish. There is no BLP issue until you added Islam critic and removing the part about critics of "islamism" being threatened by relying on an online translator. Not done. You are interpreting assumptions about him and wikipedia is still not the place for that. We are stating it as it is. And to iretirate the ban on buqah is by the Conservative Party of which he is one member. We are not going to discuss his credentials, motives or hidden agends which you seem to be suggesting. However, as for rephrasing it as suggested for sake of neutrality, I don't have a problem with that. November10 (talk) 12:58, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What "motives or hidden agends" did I suggest that are not already in the source? See discussion about the rest below.VR talk 04:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, does this "association" have a name?VR talk 02:43, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well the source clearly suggests the members are under threat on their lives for forwarding whatever criticism on Islamism. Hence the failure to publicize its' name. Otherwise I haven't looked in to it further. November10 (talk) 12:58, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not talking about the members' names. I'm talking about the organization's name. It appears the organization is non-notable (we don't even know who its members are). Perhaps this is why you are unable to find an English source. Also it promised to have a conference in Copenhagen on free speech. Did that ever happen?VR talk 04:48, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
