The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic.
This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more trans women. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it doesn't match what's most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Some people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBT WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard.
This page should not be speedily deleted because... Natalie Mars has won numerous awards in the adult film industry (numerous Pornhub Awards, AVN Awards, and Transgender Erotica Awards), becoming the most nominated and/or most awarded actress/performer at these awards shows, as cited in the article. She is clearly a noteworthy adult film performer and was mentioned on numerous Porn Awards articles across English Wikipedia. She also has articles on other language Wikipedias, including German and Russian Wiki. From what I've found, she's likely one of the most successful transgender women in the adult film industry. That seems noteworthy to me. --Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 03:41, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Willthacheerleader18: 1. Interview: not an independent source. 2. Promotional press release. 3. Promotional puff piece. Might be a new fact to prevent a G4, but it likely won't save it from another trip to AfD. 4. Interview with non-reliable porn source. These are the same low-quality references as when the article was deleted in 2021. Porn awards not longer establish notability, and porn nominations count for even less. • Gene93k (talk) 04:26, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Gene93k: While interviews are not independent sources, they do show that she has been recieving media attention. I found another XBIZ interview here. I also found a mention of one of her Pornhub wins here and this article says she is the face of a line of sex dolls that Doc Johnson released in 2022. She also is in a lot of articles on the AVN website see here. And, as I mentioned above, she has articles on other Wikipedias including Russian, German, Basque, Spanish, Italian, Persian, Korean, and Bangla. Since porn awards no longer establish notability (I'm not familiar with this, I don't normally write articles about adult film actors, but as a transgender editor I wanted to write more about trans women on Wikipedia), then what does? -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 04:47, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Willthacheerleader18: Porn trade press tends to be promotional for the porn industry. The merchandise links on a store are pure advertising (worthless as reliable references). Other Wikipedia editions are likely copies of the old en.Wikipedia article. The re-translated English page had the identical problems as the old one. Mainstream press or even reputable LGBT news sites like Pink News are useful sites for establishing notability. AVNhard news reporting may also be useful. Most other porn sites like xxxbios, Fleshbot, etc. are junk. • Gene93k (talk) 04:56, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Iridescent, in regards to removing the speedy prompt. From memory the deleted article was more than a four sentence stub and was pretty similar to what we have here, and it included very similar references. Greyjoytalk09:34, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
