Wrong name of the bank!

This is no longer true. It was a consequence of lack of accurate corporate identity. Since 2013, when new CI was introduced, the only proper name of central bank of Poland is Narodowy Bank Polski (without the define article). National Bank of Poland → Narodowy Bank Polski – Since 2013, when new NBP Corporate Identity was introduced, the only proper name of central bank of Poland is Narodowy Bank Polski (without the define article). This is the official brand name and should NOT be translated into any other language (in the same way you do not translate Banque de France, Deutsche Bank, Riksbank, ect.). Wikipedia's naming rules do not require us to title an article with the topic's official name in its native language — they require us to use whichever form, either "official form in original language" or "translated into English", is actually seen as the usual name of the topic in actual usage in English-language sources. There are absolutely some instances where English sources just use the topic's original name in its native language, but that's not something that always happens for all institutions in non-English countries whether it should or not — but the determination is not made by the topic's official name in its own native language. I'm not necessarily opposing this as of now, but the reason you've given here has nothing to do with our naming rules: what we would need to see is evidence of which form English language sources actually use to refer to it. Oppose - no evidence that the WP:COMMONNAME in English reliable sources is the Polish name. The BBC,[1] New York Times,[2] The Guardian,[3] to name a few, use "National Bank of Poland" in recent sources and have no usage of "Narodowy Bank Polski" in English articles. — Amakuru (talk) 10:45, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. While the Polish language came to be the common language of the upper classes of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it never became a widely known language outside its multinational homeland. This is by contrast with languages such as Spanish, English, French and German, which are more familiar to the broader world. Hence keeping this article's current title, "National Bank of Poland", will make the institution's name more accessible to, and overwhelmingly less mispronounced by, foreigners, with no detriment to the Bank's Polish compatriots. Comment. User:Chepry: can you produce a reference for the claim that the NBP now prefers the use of its Polish name in English (and other foreign) documents? We could at the very least mention that in the article, if we had a source. Anyway, my advice is that if NBP wants to improve its image, it should try to improve it's article here.
