Playback?[edit]

What is a playback singer? --AW (talk) 04:37, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone? --AW (talk) 21:45, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Playback singer. Vivvt (talk) 00:55, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. That should be included in the article, I'll add it. --AW (talk) 22:54, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Award winning songs[edit]

Please do not add/mention song(s) in the respective column unless it is mentioned in the primary source i.e. official brochure released by Directorate of Film Festivals or it is the only song sung by the singer in the film. Over the years, various secondary sources have added multiple songs, none of them are supported by the primary sources. - Vivvt (Talk) 04:34, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Superlatives (June 2018)[edit]

I want to add the following superlatives to the page.

Superlative Artist Record
Most awards K. J. Yesudas 8 (wins)
Most wins in a decade K. J. Yesudas (1970s)
S. P. Balasubrahmanyam (1980s)
Udit Narayan (2000s)
3 (wins)
Oldest winner K. J. Yesudas (2017) 77 (age)
Youngest winner Naresh Iyer (2006) 24 (age)

This was continuously removed by User:Vivvt (without any reason), User:Kishfan (asking for verification) and ip 43.245.8.27 (without any reason). There is an another user User:JackintheBox apart from me, who also tried to add these superlatives, but was continuously reverted by the above mentioned users. This addition was motivated because the related page National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer does contain similar superlatives (without any explicit references). These statistics do not require any explicit references because it is taken from the Winners list and the birth date of each singer. Both User:Vivvt and User:Kishfan left a warning message for adding this in my talk page, not in a polite manner. The user User:Vivvt seems to be a major contributor to this page from 2010. I would like a discussion and suggestion on this addition. See also Talk:National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer - User:Sunlitsky

I believe that the addition of the above table to the article is justified, as it relies on the 'Winners' section of the article, which is supported by a reference for each year of the award. As User:Ayush Gupta At Wikipedia mentioned in the corresponding Female article, Superlatives are useful for users seeking quick information and is not a matter of repeated information, and it provides a brief overview of recipients of the award. If the superlatives are added to this article, I suggest adding a note saying the information is based on the following 'Winners' list. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 05:33, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Stop treating Wikipedia like a school project. Read about WP:V and WP:OR. The information is already present in the table about how many singers won the award, when and how many times. Do not represent the same info again in the table. Current table is sortable and can and does provide the same information. - Vivvt (Talk) 09:02, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear User talk:Vivvt, I read WP:V and WP:OR. But I still feel like it does not oppose the addition of superlatives to the page. As User talk:JackintheBox says, verifiability is not an issue here. And I don't see any original research too, but only a matter of redundancy (If these superlatives are redundant, so does the information about the total number of awards of the top three singers, which also can easily be seen by sorting as you say). In addition, it is not straight forward from the list to see who is the youngest and oldest winner of all. I believe you agree with me on this. If you still think it is redundant, I am fine with your decision. - User talk:Sunlitsky —Preceding undated comment added 16:57, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Its redundant. Please remove as needed. - Vivvt (Talk) 15:02, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Dear User talk:Vivvt, Its not your personal project either. You are constantly opposing all my recent works and it seems, its not just me. Stop being the boss of all the Wikipedia editors. The page needs the superlatives are useful for users seeking quick information and is not a matter of repeated information, and it provides a brief overview of recipients of the award. People are here to gain some knowledge and what's the harm in adding just some superlatives. No one has time nowadays to read long paras, superlatives help them in gaining the same knowledge quickly. Stop being so critical and reverting everyone's work.Ayush Gupta 12:02, 24 July 2018 (UTC)TALK[reply]
