NPRC acronym[edit]

NPRC currently redirects here; is there any objection to making it a disambiguation page, or do you feel this has sufficient primacy of meaning? I'm doubtful that a relatively specific governmental agency has a lock on the acronym, based not least upon a Google search:

...and that's just the first page. Obviously many are (and should be) redlinks right now, but many haev national scope, if not international, and thus would be articleworthy. -- nae'blis 21:30, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A disambig page for NPRC is indeed a good idea for all the reasons you pointed out. -O.R.Comms 22:18, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

Doing a websearch on the name top of the list is 'National Archives at St. Louis' - so what should the link on this page be? Jackiespeel (talk) 16:05, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The National Archives at St. Louis is a separate office of the National Archives Research Services. It is located on site at the Military Personnel Records Center, but is not part of the National Personnel Records Center, which is part of the Federal Records Center Program. -O.R.Comms 22:18, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So what are the external links for this page? Jackiespeel (talk) 08:38, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The two records complexes which make up NPRC are described here [1] and I added an external link to a specific NPRC page, rather than just the general page for the National Archives at St. Louis. Also, as the article explains, the term "NPRC" is frequently interchanged to describe the physical Military personnel records center, which was once known as MPRC, or "NPRC-MPR", but is now commonly called NPRC. The National Archives at St. Louis is a completely separate entity, reporting through the research services side of the National Archives, although they are considered a tenant agency to NPRC and operate out of the St. Louis military records building in St. Louis. -O.R.Comms 14:13, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
