Under Lifeguard, I was very surprised that the only references to this have to do with military positions. I did a yahoo search to find this link halfway down the page. I am trying to no avail to find out just exactly what ARE the swimming, diving, and endurance requirements in order to pass a lifeguarding course or pre-exam in California, and yet there exists nothing on this topic for one of the hugest areas for beach and waterpark life and recreation in the world. Incredible! Please, under Lifeguard should be something regarding the career of protecting and rescuing people who are recreating in the ocean, pools and waterparks and also listing different physical, performance, first aid/EMT and endurance requirements depending on region in the world where this work would be performed.
Thanks.

[edit]I have rated this article on both the quality and importance scale. I believe this article goes beyond stub on the quality scale as it has some sources (I will clear these up at some point) and is of low level importance.

Expansion
[edit]I have expanded the article a litte to cover the importance of the two separate units. I understand this may not read well, feel free to tweak it.
This .pdf may be a useful place to start adding more citations with regards to the duties a lifeguard must be able to perform by law: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg179.pdf.

- This is now largely invalid with the advent of ed8, likely why it wasn't included in the first place. 86.171.112.205 (talk) 23:31, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
